What else can we tell you about this Trilogy Ring Ring?

Anatomy, Style & Specifications

A trilogy ring has three stones set in a row, often symbolising the past, present, and future. It is frequently referred to as a three-stone ring.

Setting

Rounded x4 Prong

The four rounded prongs secure the gemstone while maximizing visibility and reducing the risk of snagging on clothing.

Setting

V-Shaped

The metal prongs form a V-shape to hold the gemstone in place. They are particularly well-suited for princess, pear, or marquise cuts or rings that get a lot of wear as they provide a secure grip.

Gallery

Basket

This type of gallery features prongs (or claws) reinforced with a horizontal bar that secures the gemstone in place, creating a 'basket' effect around the gemstone.

Head

Cathedral

The primary gemstone is typically elevated by arches that rise from the band, resembling cathedral architecture. This style can make the centre stone appear larger and more prominent.

LEARN MORE
Shank

Pinched

The shank is literally pinched together on either side of the primary stone setting, creating the illusion that the centre stone is more significant than it is.

The 4 C's of a Diamond

Shape

Round

The most popular modern diamond cut for engagement rings and any melee diamonds or gemstones placed on the ring's shank.

Shape

Pear

Jewellers consider a pear-shaped gemstone a "fancy shape, " meaning it's not the standard and most common round shape. Reminiscent of a teardrop, a pear-shaped gemstone or diamond blends the best round and marquise diamond shapes. It's become so popular in recent decades that it's often separated from other 'fancy' shaped diamonds and gemstones.

Colour

Near Colourless (G-J)

Near Colourless diamonds are cheaper than their Colourless counterparts. They appear primarily colourless to the naked eye. Their slight yellow tint is only visible when compared to higher grades of diamonds.

Clarity

SI1/SI2

Noticeable inclusions are seen under a 10x magnification.

Carat (ct)

1.99ct or Less

Gemstones and Diamonds with a carat weight of less than 1.99ct are considered budget-friendly options for a primary stone setting. Anything under 0.20ct is ideal for melee/accent shoulder set rings. The wow factor will still be achieved unless the intended recipient happens to be a gemstone or diamond specialist!

Source

Natural & Lab

Both share the same chemical and physical properties. Natural gemstones have been formed on Earth for millions of years, while lab-grown gemstones are created in a laboratory. The latter have higher clarity and more consistent colour for their price tag, yet natural are still more desirable due to their rarity.

How has this Trilogy Ring been finished?

Metal Alloys, Detailing & Finishes

Learn more about the Alloys and Finishing details that have been utilised during the creation of this piece.

Alloy

White Gold

Gold is mixed with other alloys like platinum, silver, manganese, or palladium to create its white colour and is often coated with rhodium to reduce yellow tones. While it looks similar to platinum, white gold is usually less expensive. It is not hypoallergenic, and its cost can vary based on the alloys used.

Gold Purity (k)

9k or 18k

18-karat white gold contains 75% pure gold, compared to 9-karat, which has only 37.5%. Higher karat white gold has a warmer hue, even with rhodium coating, but it is also softer and more prone to scratches.

Finish

Polished

A smooth, shiny surface that reflects light. It's created using abrasive compounds or a polishing wheel to remove imperfections from the metal.
